4:19 to Paso - Rosé

It's 4:19 on a warm afternoon and after a challenging day you're ready to kick it with a cool and tasty glass of rosé in hand. Our 2022 4:19 To Paso Rosé should do it for you. We picked our tempranillo specifically for rosé in mid September and limited skin contact to under two hours. This resulted in a bright, satisfyingly dry and lightly hued rosé with Provençal tipicity. This rosé is the perfect starter, but also pairs well with cured meats, hard cheeses, poultry and Zenaido's late night carnitas tacos.

Profits generated through the sale of our 4:19 To Paso Rosé are split 50/50 with Paso Cares, an organization that provides for the immediate and longer-term needs of homeless residents of Paso Robles and SLO County.

Excuse My Dust - Edna Valley Chardonnay

Our 2021 Excuse My Dust Chardonnay is elegant and refined; more comparable to a white burgundy than a typical oaked chardonnay from California. We fermented this chardonnay in new French oak barrels, but were deliberate in finishing the wine in neutral oak to ensure that the tannins and toast did not overwhelm the subtleties of the fruit. Don’t like an oaked Chardonnay? Well - fine! More for those who remain loyal to what is considered, still, to be the world’s most popular white wine.

Profits generated through the sale of our 2021 Excuse My Dust Chardonnay are split 50/50 with Lumina Alliance, an SLO County based organization previously known as R.I.S.E.. Lumina Alliance provides crisis intervention, counseling and other services to survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence.

La Macha

Our 2020 La Macha is a complex blend of mataro (30%) tempranillo (25%), garnacha (25%) and graciano (20%). Each varietal has its own story and makes a unique contribution to this blend. Tempranillo is bright and bouyant. Graciano shows up with spice and intensity. The earthy mataro tempers the acidity in the tempranillo just enough. The grenache provides a degree of sweetness that balances what would otherwise be a wine a bit too dry for us to compare it to a Rioja, which we very often do.

Sales of our 2020 La Macha will raise funds for 805UndocuFund - a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to working families within our community that due to their immigration status are not eligible for government programs.

Pray for Love - Edna Valley Pinot Noir

Our 2021 Pray For Love is a deliciously light, summery Pinot Noir that could also be the perfect accompaniment to Thanksgiving dinner but only if you can hang on to some until the holidays. We will most likely be sold out by then! We sourced this fruit from Jesperson Vineyard in Edna Valley - as we did with our 2019 vintage Pray For Love. In truth we have been alternating our pinot clone selection each vintage between the 115 clone - which this vintage is - and the 777 clone which this vintage is definitely not! If you enjoyed any of our 2020 Pray For Love you may remember it for its density and dark cherry flavor. This 2021 vintage is its exact opposite. It is very light in color and body with bright berry flavors and a bouquet that is much more characteristic of a pinot.

Profits from Pray For Love are shared with Wine4Paws to help raise funds for Woods Humane Society - an organization that provides pet adoption services and the humane care of dogs & cats in SLO County. Dogs and cats that we like to think are praying for someone to take them home and love them, hence the name of this wine.

Rhône Rodeo - GSM

Did you know that one of the largest rodeos in the world takes place each year in Saint-Agrève – about a half-day horse ride from the Rhône River in southern France? We didn't either and when we found out it inspired us to name our blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre Rhône Rodeo. We sourced this fruit from La Vista Vineyard and Hastings Ranch - both in the Adelaida District and about 11 miles west of Paso Robles. Due to the proximity of these vineyards to the coast and their relatively high elevation (about 1,300 feet) the grapes grown in this area are exposed to more ambient moisture and generally cooler temperatures than the grapes grown elsewhere within the Paso Robles AVA. For this reason, our Rhone Rodeo GSM is a bit lighter and more buoyant than your typical Paso GSM - but with nice spice and a level of complexity that GSM fans will appreciate. Profits generated through the sale of our Rhône Rodeo GSM are split 50/50 with CASA of San Luis Obispo, an organization that advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the court system.

Steel Reins - Chardonnay

Quite a few first-time visitors arrive at the Hayseed tasting garage and upon looking at our tasting menu announce that they are "over" Chardonnay. Given the number of warm afternoon weddings we attended where guests like us were subjected to some of the worst mass-produced chardonnay on the planet, we are not surprised by this. It is very satisfying, then, to have these customers experience the surprise of our Steel Reins stainless steel fermented chardonnay. It is light, crisp, dry and obviously NOT oaked - a flavor component we suspect may have given certain folks reason to be "over" this world-renowned varietal at some point earlier in their lives. Anyway, if you are a chablis style chardonnay lover, or perhaps even someone who thought they had lost the taste for the grape, we think you'll appreciate Steel Reins.

Profits generated through the sale of our 2022 Steel Reins Chardonnay are split 50/50 with Lumina Alliance, a SLO County-based organization that provides crisis intervention, counseling and other services to survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence.

Warrior - Cabernet & Petite Sirah Blend

Our Warrior blend is an alliance of two formidable forces:  the popular Cabernet and the renegade Petite Sirah. Warrior surrounds the palette with bold waves of ripe plum, black currant and tobacco. It is powerful in flavor and well structured thanks to more than two years aging in a combination of new and neutral French oak barrels. Warrior is also surprisingly agile with an ABV of only 14.1%. We were pleased to have the opportunity to source some beautiful Petite Sirah in 2019 from St. Peter of Alcantara Vineyard in the Willow Creek District of Paso Robles - and some equally solid Cabernet from Hastings Ranch in the Adelaida District to blend it into. We often hear from our customers that Warrior is the best valued West Side Cab blend available in Paso Robles.

Profits from the sale of Warrior  are split 50/50 with Operation Surf, an SLO County based organization that helps wounded and injured active duty military and veteran heroes move forward in a positive direction through an epic, life-changing surfing experience.
